Cloud Ace, Inc. (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Makoto Aoki, President; “Cloud Ace”) is pleased to announce the establishment of a new legal entity and the start of operations in Johannesburg, South Africa, as a subsidiary of its parent company, Yoshizumi Holdings Limited.

〈Background to establishment of subsidiary in South Africa〉

While Cloud Ace has been focusing on expanding its business in the Asian market with the goal of having offices around the world, it has established a corporation in South Africa, the largest economy in Africa, as a foothold to enter the African market.

South Africa is positioned as a “cloud leader country” in Africa as a whole, and with its full-stack data centers and broadband environment, there is a high awareness of cloud computing, making Johannesburg and Cape Town hotspots for startups. As a result, South Africa is attracting attention from around the world as a gateway to the African market, where high economic growth rates are expected.

*In October 2022, Google Cloud announced plans to build a Cloud region in South Africa by 2024 and a $1 billion investment plan to support startups to facilitate digital transformation (DX) in the African market. This is expected to increase demand for cloud computing and the use of Google Cloud in South Africa.

In response to the announcement, Mr. Matsuoka, President of Cloud Ace South Africa, said, “Cloud Ace has chosen South Africa as its newest base of operations.

South Africa is the largest economy in Africa and is expected to continue to grow with an expected increase in the working age population by the year 2050.

In order to meet the needs of the rapidly digitizing market in South Africa, Cloud Ace will strive to contribute to the accelerating digitization in the African market by combining the Google Cloud know-how and technology that Cloud Ace has cultivated over the years in countries around the world.”

The establishment of this local subsidiary marks the 18th sales base for the Group, following those in Japan (Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka), Vietnam (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City), Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, India(Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai), Germany, Brazil, and the United States. We will continue to export high-quality Japanese SI and further strengthen our global structure with engineering resources coordinated between all of our bases, aiming to improve the technical capabilities and service quality of all of our bases around the world.
